Expressing that until now, Ukrainian products have gone to European countries rather than poor countries, Putin stated that he is considering “restricting the destinations of grain and other food products” and that he will discuss this issue with Erdogan.

Turkey played a role in the arrangement of the grain corridor agreement with the United Nations.

“If we do not count Turkey, which is the intermediate stop, almost all of the grain exported from Ukraine is shipped to the European Union, not to low-income countries,” said Putin, adding that low-income countries have lost access to food.

Putin said that the problems in the global food market are likely to escalate and that a humanitarian disaster is imminent.
