25.4 percent discount on gasoline in Sudan

In the East African country of Sudan, the government announced that there will be a 25.4% discount on gasoline per liter, effective from today.

According to the written statement made by the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, within the scope of monthly price policy evaluations based on international price changes in the oil market and local production costs, 25.4 percent discount was made in gasoline and 1.8 percent in diesel.

With the new tariff, the liter of gasoline sold at 702 cuneyhs became 522 cuneyh, and the liter of diesel fuel sold from 685 cuneyh became 672 cuneyh.

After South Sudan gained independence with a referendum in 2011, daily oil production in Sudan decreased from 450 thousand barrels to 60 thousand barrels.
