iPhone 14: forget to recycle the old covers, they will not be compatible

Bad surprises for those who hoped to be able to switch from the iPhone 13 to 14 by recycling old gadgets and accessories . According to some latest rumors relaunched by the well-known tipster Ice Universe, the covers for the iPhone 13, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will not be compatible with the corresponding phones of the new generation.

The paradox? The covers are not compatible, but the smartphones will feature a design that is extremely similar to that of the older generation. To change – albeit marginally – should be the overall dimensions, due to the new photographic module and, perhaps, of a greater thickness on the Pro models.

The same Ice Universe has specified that to make impossible the ‘recycling’ of the old covers is precisely the new photographic module. The new sensors will be larger than those of the iPhone 13. It’s news that doesn’t surprise us: Apple has never been interested in ensuring the backward compatibility of old covers and old accessories on its new products.

In these hours, the journalist Mark Gurman has published a recap of the expected news on the new iPhone 14 , which will be four in total. If the iPhone 14 will not present big news compared to the previous generation, the same cannot be said for the two ‘Pro’ models, including goodbye to the notch, Always-On Display mode, more powerful processor and improved autonomy. We talked about it more in depth here .
