What happened to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra? Many expect it to be presented during the MWC in Barcelona, but the wait could be longer.
Last month, 13 Xiaomi smartphones were officially launched in China. According to the main rumors, the devices will debut globally at the MWC next month.
The line-up currently branches out into the basic Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, many expect that the series will soon be extended with an even more powerful version, namely the Xiaomi 13 Ultra , a high-end device designed for both Chinese and global market.
Many took for granted that even the unpublished Xiaomi 13 Ultra would have been presented during the Xiaomi event to be held on the occasion of the Mobile World Congress, but it seems that this will not be the case. According to Digital Chat Station, both OPPO Find X6 series and Honor Magic5 will be launched shortly after Chinese New Year on January 22nd. Given the duration of the celebrations, both lines should debut in mid-late February.
However, the leaker is convinced that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be launched at a later date and therefore much later in time. Therefore, the western versions of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will be shown in Barcelona, while for the Ultra version (also unreleased in China) we will have to wait a little longer. How much? Also according to DCS, at least in China the launch could be scheduled for the end of March. We do not know if the debut will take place simultaneously in the rest of the world.
At the moment, the information available on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra suggests that it could have a quad-camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 main camera and 1-inch sensor . All four cameras could have PDAF autofocus, and the main camera could offer gimbal as well. There are no doubts about the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 500GB/1TB of UFS 4.0 storage are also expected.
