WhatsApp is testing message editing with a limited number of users
Continuing to work to add new features to its platform, WhatsApp has launched its message editing feature as a beta for the iOS version.
We first told you in January 2017 that WhatsApp was working on the features of correcting and retrieving messages . Although the feature to undo messages has been made available in the past years, the feature to correct messages is still not officially available to users.
WhatsApp, which has been working on the message editing feature for many years, launched the message editing feature as beta in Android 2.22.20.12 in September of last year. A similar move from WhatsApp came today for the iOS platform .
Known for its leaks about WhatsApp , WABetaInfo announced that the message editing feature is also available in beta for the iOS version of WhatsApp. According to the information conveyed by WABetaInfo, the message editing feature is currently available to a limited number of users.
Let’s add that the message editing feature can only be used for messages containing text. There will be no editing option for messages containing photos, videos or documents .

Telegram and iMessage, which are competitors of WhatsApp, also have message editing feature. While messages can be edited without a time limit in Telegram, there is a 15-minute time limit for editing messages on the iMessage platform.
According to the information we have received, there will be a 15-minute time limit for editing messages in WhatsApp, just like in iMessage . In short, you will be able to edit the message you sent within 15 minutes of sending a message on WhatsApp. Let’s add that the said time limit may change in the future.
To remind you, WhatsApp introduced the message deletion feature in the first place with a time limit of 1 hour. In August of last year, the time limit for deleting messages for WhatsApp was increased from 1 hour to 2 days . Although there is no information about when the message editing feature of WhatsApp will be available exactly, it would not be wrong to say that it will appear in a short time as both platforms are in beta process.
WhatsApp continues to work on adding new features to its platform. We have recently informed you that WhatsApp, which offers the “picture-in-picture” feature for video calls to the iOS application, is working on the newsletter feature .
