Twitter: goodbye to the old limit, now you can write tweets up to 4,000 characters (provided you pay Blue).
Goodbye to short and concise posts, the social network has extended the maximum length of posts to 4,000 characters (but only for Twitter Blue subscribers).
With Elon Musk, Twitter has also broken the last of the taboos. Goodbye to short and concise posts, the social network has extended the maximum length of posts to 4,000 characters. A revolution compared to the old limit of 280 characters.
But there is a but, quite important. The new feature is an exclusive benefit of the Twitter Blue subscription, which has also been available in Italy for a few days at a price of 7 euros a month. In short, the social network makes a nice gift for talkative people, but on the condition that they put their hands on their wallets.
New long posts won’t disrupt the social network feed. Users will only see a preview of posts that exceed the previous limit of 240 characters, to read the entire message it will have to be manually extended, similar to how longer Facebook posts work.
For now, this feature is only available in the United States. Italian users, even if subscribed to Twitter Blu, cannot yet write tweets longer than 280 characters.
You can get an idea of how the new long tweets work by looking at the post shared by the official Twitter account, which to celebrate the introduction of this new feature has repeated the words “ more words ” 72 times in a single tweet.
