Twitter backs out on prioritizing algorithmic streaming on iOS and Android
The “For You” stream, which some users have expressed dissatisfaction for a while, will not be offered primarily on iOS and Android.
We’ve brought you Twitter’s Twitter navigation, which makes it easy to switch between tweets, topics, and trends. Twitter, which has for some time tabbed the stream into “Just for you” and “Followed”, has taken a step back in prioritizing algorithmic streaming on iOS and Android. The “For You” stream, which some users have expressed dissatisfaction for a while, will not be offered primarily on iOS and Android.
According to Twitter’s statement, the app will remember the stream you selected. Thus, the next time you open the application, you will continue with the flow you chose when closing the application.
Before this innovation, users were faced with the “Following” flow, which was presented chronologically when leaving the application, and an algorithmic flow “For you” when they re-entered the application. For this reason, users had to re-specify their choices each time.
The streams, which were broadcast last month, showed themselves in Twitter’s mobile applications after a while. The “Exclusive for you” stream, which was set as the default stream on iOS last month, later appeared with a dual stream view on Android and web version.
Let us remind you that before this new flow approach, users can switch between algorithmic and chronological flow via a star icon.
