Pointing out that there has been an almost 2-fold increase in trademark applications made to Qatar in the last year, Cumhur Akbulut noted that there has been an increase in the number of trademark applications made from Turkey to Qatar in the last 3 years, and that the number of applications in the field of patent and trademark will increase with the awareness studies they have made. Akbulut stated that trademark applications should also be increased in exports with other countries and said, “The Madrid Protocol offers important opportunities to our exporters in this context. You have the opportunity to register your trademark in more than one country with just one trademark application. It is extremely valuable that our players in the production and service sector benefit from the Madrid Protocol in the field of branding and work with professionals who are experts in their field. In particular, we can increase the way of value-added export by registering a product we developed or our brand in the markets in which you operate. In this regard, we cannot see the momentum we have achieved on the export side in foreign trademark applications.”
