Time magazine announced the winner… Ukraine’s leader Zelenski was named Person of the Year

Time magazine announced that this year’s winner of the ‘Person of the Year’ award, which it has organized every year since 1927, is Ukrainian President Zelensky.

US-based Time magazine announced its person of the year.

Time editors, who started voting in the past weeks, decided that the person who marked this year was Ukrainian leader Zelenski.

The list also included former US President Donald Trump, US singer Beyonce, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and climate activist Greta Thunberg.

The magazine named the famous billionaire Elon Musk as the person of the year last year.

Born in the city of Krivoy Rog in the central part of Ukraine in 1978, Vladimir Zelenski received a good English education in primary school and completed his higher education in law. However, Zelenski, who never worked in the field of law except for a 2 month internship period, became a member of a comedy group at a young age.

Zelenski began his career as a comedian in the entertainment industry since the Soviet Union, in the “Club of the Cheerful and Talented” (KVN), a comedy group competition with funny answers to questions.

Zelenski , who gained fame by participating in competitions and organizing shows with his own group, which he named “Kvartal 95” , later took part in various TV series and films both in Russia and Ukraine. While Zelensky was an ordinary teacher with the TV series “Servant of the People” in 2015 on a television channel in Ukraine, thanks to a video, he played a character who came to the Presidency of Ukraine as a folk hero in a short time.

Zelenski, who founded the “Servant of the People” party last year inspired by this series and stepped into politics, announced his candidacy for the presidency in a short time.

Zelenski, who has been married to his schoolmate Yelena since 2003, has two children.
