TikTok lets all users receive messages from anyone, just like Instagram

Until now, TikTok users could only message with users who followed them. TikTok now allows all users to receive messages from anyone, just like Instagram .
As a matter of fact, the feature in question has been testing with a small user base for a while. TikTok, which first announced the feature in November last year, recently announced that it is expanding the scope of its Direct Messaging options by emailing its user base. With this new update, TikTok users will be able to send messages to users who open their DM boxes to everyone.
The feature is currently optional. In other words, users can continue to receive messages only from mutually followed or suggested friends, if they so desire.
As the competition between social networks continues, TikTok may be trying to consolidate its place with this new feature. Because many people prefer other messaging platforms for TikTok video sharing. The ability of everyone to send messages to everyone on TikTok will also increase the sharing of TikTok videos within the platform.
