Thousands of Syrian earthquake survivors living in the disaster area flocked to the Cilvegözü border gate to return to their countries. Abbas Albakur, 48, said that his house in Kahramanmaraş was completely destroyed after the earthquake. Albakur, who was queuing to go to Syria’s Idlib province with his two children, said, “There have been problems in Syria for 12 years, but right now the biggest disaster is in Turkey.”

‘I CAN STAY THERE’

Futhaim Sahab, 60, said that he has lived in Turkey for 10 years but lost everything in the earthquake. Sahab added that he could stay in Syria if the opportunities allow. Previously, the return of Syrians who went to their country for holidays or holidays was prohibited, but after the earthquake, the ban for crossings was lifted for a while. According to The United Nations , 1.74 Million Syrian Refugees Lived In 11 Cities Hit By The Earthquake. In Syria, nearly 6,000 people lost their lives due to the Kahramanmaraşlı-centered earthquakes.
