The world’s oldest person, French nun Lucile Randon, died at the age of 118.
Randon was reported to have died in his sleep in a nursing home in the city of Toulon. Born in the south of France in 1904, Randon witnessed two world wars and devoted most of his life to the Catholic church. Despite being blind and using a wheelchair, Randon spent the last years of his life helping people in a nursing home. The nun has seen 27 French Presidents during her lifetime. Randon, who answered “Only God knows” when journalists asked him the secret of his long life , also made history as the oldest person to beat COVID-19 In 2021.
