From Xiaomi to OnePlus via Oppo, Motorola and Honor, here’s who is in the front row in mounting the new Qualcomm processor

The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor made official by Qualcomm on the occasion of the recent annual event held in Hawaii will mark its debut by the end of the year on top-of-the-range smartphones that will be able to exploit all its extensive capabilities. What are the models that will be the first to include the new chip? For the moment, there are already several companies that have responded and we can already anticipate the models that will compete to be the first to officially debut on the markets before the end of 2022 and in the first weeks of 2023.

Among the first companies to respond was Oppo, which issued a statement simultaneously with the launch of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 stating how the chip will be on board the next top of the range of the Find X line which should appear at the turn of the New Year. From Oppo to the OnePlus “cousins” the step is very short and in fact the OnePlus 11 series will also receive the new generation chip immediately, as announced by a post on the Chinese social network Weibo . Xiaomi was also exposed on Weibo, which in recent years has been the company increasingly ready to release a model with the latest generation Snapdragon chip: for winter 2022/23 it will be the turn of the awaited Xiaomi 13 line .

Finally, the list closes with Motorola which will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the new Moto X40s , as confirmed by a teaser showing the silhouette of a slightly curved model, also on Weibo so RedMagic with its new gaming phone RedMagic 8 Pro and finally with the Iqoo brand of the BBK Electronics conglomerate, which however will debut only in China for the moment with the Iqoo 11 range. The other companies are ready, but not yet officially exhibited. Honor is almost certain in the debut list as well as Nubia, Sharp up to the other big players like Zte, Vivo and Sony later in the year 2023.
