New information emerges on the next basic iPad , the entry-level model with an entry price set at around 400-500 euros. According to the 9to5Mac website, Apple is preparing a major generational surge.

The new basic iPad will be able, in fact, for the first time to count on a USB-C port , instead of the old Lightning input. By now it seems certain that Apple is gradually introducing the USB-C standard on all its products – after all, Europe wants it.

This is not the only major innovation that will be introduced with the iPad 2022. The model with the SIM slot will support 5G for the first time . In addition, a larger display is also expected , with a diagonal between 10.5 and 10.9 inches. The iPad currently on the market has a 10.2-inch screen.

The base iPad was Apple’s latest tablet without USB-C. The entrance is now present on the entire Apple portfolio: from the iPad Pro – using this standard since 2018 – to the iPad Air and iPad Mini. It is not a novelty of secondary importance, just think that it will become much easier to connect the tablet to an external monitor.

According to rumors, the iPad 2022 will be equipped with the A14 Bionic chip. Nothing unexpected, considering that we are talking about Apple’s entry-level tablet. Those looking for more performance will continue to find it in Apple’s other products.
