God of War’s PC Port Makers Are Developing A Live Service Game For PlayStation

Jetpack Interactive, which has been successful lately, will produce more productions with Sony.

Sony, one of the two biggest giants of the console world, continues to stay on the agenda of the game world with all the new productions it has recently released. The company, which has recently started to release the games that it has released exclusively for PlayStation, to the PC, is trying to expand its influence in the game world in this way. One of the most striking of these PC ports, which started with the first game of the Horizon series, was undoubtedly the PC port of God of War, which was released in 2018 .

The company, which currently produces admirable works on PC as well as its own consoles, is generally known for its games that offer single-player cinematic experiences. However, it seems that Sony wants to expand the playing field even more. So much so that the company has already started working on “live service games”, which has become a trend among game developers.

Jetpack Interactive, who is behind the PC port of God of War, recently posted a job posting on its LinkedIn page. The Canadian-based studio, which describes itself as a “small and agile team”, stated in its newly shared post that it is working on a live service game with Sony. It is also stated in the ad that this game will be one of the flagships of its kind.

PlayStation currently only has one live service game (MLB The Show 2022). However, Sony has stated that it has plans to host 12 live service games on the market by its fiscal year, which will end in March 2026. This game, which is being developed by Jetpack Interactive, seems to be one of the pioneers of its kind if we look at the success of its recent work. Before the God of War PC port, the studio Orcs Must Die! He made the PS4 port of Unchained and provided engineering support for the PC port of Dark Souls. On the other hand, the studio also provided various support to Electronic Arts for the NBA Live series.

Jetpack Interactive announced that they continue to work on the God of War series, as well as developing this live service game. Whether the upcoming God of War Ragnarok will come to PC has not yet been officially announced, but the fact that Jetpack is still working with Santa Monica is one of the signs that this will definitely happen one day.
