Last March, it was announced that Japan-based Sony and Honda decided to cooperate for electric cars and that they would establish a joint venture company within the scope of this cooperation . Sony Honda Mobility electric car, which was established in the Honda-Sony partnership in October, was said to be introduced to the US market in 2026. Mizuno noted that they will start electric vehicle production at Honda’s factory in North America. Only 3 months have passed since this announcement. Sony, which has been working on electric cars for many years, has proven that Honda uses its experience in the field of automobiles with the introduction made at CES.

The electric car industry made a rapid entry into 2023. Although we are only in the first week of the new year, the prototypes introduced and the statements made signal that this year will also be active for the market.

But this activity started in the last months of 2022. At the Los Angeles Auto Show in November of last year, Fiat CEO Olivier Francois announced that he would launch the all-electric Fiat 500e in the US in the first quarter of 2024 . He also said they plan to introduce a subscription system for electric cars to be sold across the country. In other words, he stated that they would go beyond traditional sales methods.

Oliver Francois stated that he believed in exploring alternative business models and reshaping the automobile business. François explained that Fiat’s strategy is focused on the future of e-mobility, or electric vehicles, with a car designed for the city, rather than increasing US sales.
