Tilda Swinton No Longer Cast in HBO’s ‘Parasite’ TV Series

In 2020, HBO announced that it is working on a serial adaptation of the Korean drama Parasite. The show was supposed to consist of six hour-long episodes and tell “completely new stories”. At the same time, Mark Ruffalo and Tilda Swinton signed up for the main roles.

Since then, no information about the series has been received. And now it became known that Swinton is no longer involved in it. The actress herself told reporters about this:

I do not think that I will participate in this, but with pleasure I will cheer for the series from the outside.

It’s unclear if Tilda Swinton’s departure is due to some scheduling conflicts, or if HBO is just quietly dumping a series that hasn’t made it to filming in two years.

The drama “Parasite” by South Korean director and screenwriter Bong Joon-ho was released in 2019, and in 2020 won four Oscars at once, including for Best Picture.
