Thales: closes abroad and hires 122 people in Italy

Thales Italia has inaugurated a new factory in Gorgonzola, Milan. The number of workers accepted was double allowing the company to become the only European site in the air navigation sector. The restructured site has created 122 jobs with new skills. From the company they explain:

 

The restructuring has made possible the unification in Gorgonzola of the Nas, navigation aids and non-radar surveillance activities, until now divided between the Italian headquarters and that of Ditzigen in Germany. The Gorgonzola site has long been a global center of expertise for navigation aids and non-radar surveillance, serving customers in 170 countries.

Leaving the German plant, Thales Italia has doubled the workforce in Italy, in the Milan area. The recruitment was related to the engineering field, 46 units, mainly in systems engineering, hardware and software specialists and new professions. For example scrum master and cybersecurity engineers, but also manager dids and projects, 30 resources, and strategic and operational services. As many as 27 employees, who joined the tried and tested expert technicians already in Italy. Employees of 13 different nationalities work in Gorgonzola . Women represent 26 % of the staff compared to 15% in 2019. In the new headquarters there are no single offices, but all open spaces, management included.
