Tesla sold 1.31 million cars in 2022, its best-ever result. Meanwhile, Norway is ahead of the rest of the world at the time.
In 2022 Tesla sold 1.31 million cars, achieving the most important result in its history. The automaker founded by Elon Musk managed to deliver another 405,278 vehicles during the last quarter of 2022, narrowly missing the goal it had set itself: to grow by 50% compared to the previous year.
With the figure for the last three months of the year that just passed, Tesla also broke its previous records, closing the most successful quarter in its history. The previous best result was achieved during Q3 2022, with 343,830 cars delivered.
The production volume also did well, rising to 439,701 cars, of which 419,000 Model 3 and Model Y and 20,613 Model S and Model X. This means that the development plans of the two most recent Giga factories, the Texan and Berlin ones, are progressing full sails.
Electric cars conquer the Norwegian market
Once again Tesla turned out to be the first manufacturer in Norway , which is what we can define as the liveliest market for electric cars globally. The Scandinavian country is on course to become the first country in the world to retire internal combustion engine cars, which now represent a marginal item on the total number of new registrations.

Overall, electric cars occupy 79.3% of the Norwegian market share. In 2021 the figure had stopped at 65%.
