Tesla recalled thousands of vehicles

US electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla recalled 435,132 “Model 3” and “Model Y” electric cars exported to China due to a software error that caused the taillights not to light.

In a statement from the State Market Regulatory Administration of China, it was stated that a bug in the firmware caused the taillights to turn off when the vehicles were first started, which could pose a risk of collision in dark conditions.

In the statement, it was noted that the company will recall the vehicles and update the software to fix the error in 142 thousand 277 Model 3 produced between 27 December 2020 and 7 November 2022 and 292 thousand 855 Model Y produced between January 1, 2021 and November 11, 2022.
