Swedish Foreign Minister announced… EU will hold donors’ conference on March 16 for earthquake victims.

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström announced that the Donors Conference, which is planned to be held to collect aid from the international community for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, will be held on March 16.

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström, the term chairman of the European Union (EU) Council, made a statement before the Foreign Relations Council meeting held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.

Stating that Sweden will do its best for Turkey and Syria, which were devastated after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, Billström announced that the Donors Conference, which will be held by The EU Commission to collect aid for earthquake victims, will be held in Brussels on 16 March. “Our aim is to provide additional support to the people of Turkey and Syria and to try to mitigate the terrible damage of this earthquake as much as possible,” Billström said.

In the last statement of AFAD, it was stated that the number of deaths in Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes increased to 41 thousand 20. It was reported that 4,815 people died in the opposition regions of northern Syria affected by the earthquake, and 1,414 people died in the lands under the control of the regime, according to official statements.
