Spotify Tickets is born: concert tickets can be purchased from the application

Spotify has created a new platform dedicated to selling tickets. The project was launched without major claims. Through Spotify Tickets , users will be able to purchase concert tickets for their favorite artists.

For the moment it is little more than a test. The site offers the possibility to buy tickets for an extremely limited number of concerts: we find the latest events from Limbeck, Annie DiRusso, Dirty Honey, Crows, TOKiMONSTA, Four Year Strong and Osees. The plan is to progressively extend the number of artists and bands available.

Spotify wants to become an increasingly complete hub dedicated to music. A single place to listen to the songs of the artists, but also to buy tickets for their concerts and their merchandising. In the USA, Spotify Tickets has already opened its doors.

Spotify, we remember, already had a section called Live Events Feed, with a sort of calendar of upcoming concerts of the main artists. Directly from that section, users can access the Ticketmaster, AXS, DICE, Eventbrite and See Tickets sites and purchase tickets.

The difference is that with Spotify Tickets it is the same platform that sells tickets to users, taking a commission on the price of each ticket. Spotify Tickets has a policy against scalping: tickets purchased through the new platform cannot be transferred or resold to third parties.
