Solomon Islands suspends foreign navy ships from entering ports

The Prime Minister’s Office of the Solomon Islands announced that foreign navy ships are suspended from entering the ports of the Solomon Islands in order to better control their economic zones.

The Solomon Islands Made A Statement After The US Coast Guard Ship Oliver Henry did not respond to a refueling and supply request from Solomon Islands Officials Last Week. In A Statement Made By The Solomon Islands Prime Minister’s Office, It Was Stated That The Entry Of Foreign Navy ships into the ports of the Solomon Islands was suspended in order to better control the economic zones .

“We ask our partners to give us time to review and implement our new processes before sending further requests for military ships to enter the country,” Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare said in a statement.

On the other hand, Sogavare said that the delay aboard the US Coast Guard Ship Oliver Henry was due to the failure to send the necessary information to his office in a timely manner .
