Russia hits energy infrastructures

Due to the missile attacks carried out by the Russian army on Ukraine in the morning, the residents of the capital Kyiv took shelter in the metro station and parking lots. As a result of Russian missile attacks, energy infrastructures in the country were severely damaged.

The air raid alarm has been sounding in Kiev since the morning, due to the missile attacks carried out by the Russian forces in many parts of the country, especially in the capital of Ukraine.

In the capital, people took shelter in subway stations, parking lots and underpasses to avoid attacks.

Emergency declared in Ukraine’s energy system

On the other hand, in a written statement from Ukraine’s National Energy Company Ukrenergo, it stated that energy infrastructures were damaged as a result of Russian missile attacks against the country today.

In the statement, it was stated that due to the missile attacks, the Ukraine Unified Energy System lost more than 50 percent of its electricity generation capacity, and therefore it was decided to declare a state of emergency in the energy system.

 Russia launched more than 60 missiles

Ukrainian authorities announced that Russian forces launched attacks with more than 60 missiles in various parts of Ukraine in the morning.

It was reported that 37 of the 40 missiles fired at the capital Kyiv and surrounding settlements were destroyed in the air.

The Mayor of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, Vitaliy Klichko, in his statement in the early hours of the morning, stated that there were explosions in the Desyanskiy, Dniprovskiy and Goloseyevskiy regions of the city.
