Red Dead Redemption 2 is “dead” for Rockstar, but in the meantime it breaks a new record

Red Dead Redemption 2 , the wonderful tribute to the western created by Rockstar Games, does not seem to have any intention of stopping and continues to win over many new fans even today, despite the fact that support for the game is now considered finished.
The prequel that allowed us to discover the story of Arthur Morgan (you can find it on a discount on Amazon ) had in fact added an intriguing multiplayer mode in the wake of GTA Online which, despite not having replicated the same success, had managed to conquer the hearts of numerous fans of the wild west.
However, due to the imminent launch of GTA 6 , Rockstar Games had admitted that new additional content for Red Dead Online would no longer arrive , thus limiting itself to supporting it with sporadic updates and pushing fans, disappointed by the news, to organize even a ” funeral” to multiplayer .
As reported by PCGamesN , however, the passion of the fans has never stopped, to the point of letting Red Dead Redemption 2 set a new record on a very special occasion: the title has in fact seen the highest number of players connected simultaneously to the online multiplayer for its anniversary.

In fact, SteamDB data shows that on November 27, 66,492 players connected at the same time: this is the highest number of users ever since launch, the result of a fan coordination effort.
In fact, online multiplayer was originally launched on November 27, 2018 , even if it was not possible to play it on PC until November 5, 2019: in any case, it seems clear that the date is not at all random and the result of a great coordination of the community.
The data was then partially confirmed by the official Steam reports , which reported an even higher number of players, reaching a total of 66,501 and at the same time.
It goes without saying that the community hopes that this data does not go unnoticed by Rockstar Games and Take-Two, so as to push them to review their plans and continue to support the online mode of the western which would have deserved better fortunes.
In the meantime, since no further official updates have arrived from the developers, the fans have thought about creating a new update for Red Dead Redemption 2 , with the aim of improving a specific feature.
