Now you can message yourself

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that lets you send messages to yourself, such as reminders and shopping lists.
The feature called WhatsApp “Message Yourself” was first spotted by WaBetaInfo as part of a beta test a few weeks ago, but is now rolling out to iOS and Android users worldwide in the coming weeks.
After receiving the update, you will be able to see yourself at the top of the contacts list while composing new messages. Click that and you’ll be able to send yourself notes, reminders, shopping lists, and anything else you need to remember. The resulting notification, if enabled, can help ensure that your self grade is ignored. Users can also pin Message Yourself chats to the top of a conversation list for easier access.
Until now, you could only message yourself by creating a group you’re a member of or using the app’s “click to chat” feature, both of which were not elegant solutions at best. WhatsApp rival platform Signal already offers a feature called “Note to Self” that does the same thing, but this feature is embedded in your contacts list instead of being at the top.
As mentioned, you should see the feature on Android or iOS in the next few weeks. The feature will be available to all users soon and will be an addition that will make things easier for many users. Most users were trying to send a message to themselves by opening a group before, but this feature will make the users’ work much easier.
