unique group of Netflix users get the chance to watch original movies and series before everyone else. Their opinion is taken extremely seriously by Netflix, which in the past has repeatedly changed the plot or editing of its films, in order to align them with the opinions expressed by its ‘super users’.

The initiative was born just over a year ago and is called Netflix Preview Club , today it includes around 2,000 users, all Americans, selected on the basis of random criteria.

For the first time ever, this ultra-exclusive club will once again open its doors to thousands of potential new members. And not only that: Netflix also wants to open it to non-US residents.

In 2023, the group of users who will be entitled to watch movies and TV series in preview will be extended, opening the doors to tens of thousands of subscribers all over the world, including in Europe.

Today this elite number about 2,000 users, all Americans. In 2021 Netflix added some new scenes in its blockbuster ‘ Don’t Look Up ‘. The reason? The majority of users who had previewed it had declared that they found it “too serious and disturbing”. For this reason, Netflix has ordered the production to retouch it, in order to increase the playing time reserved for comic gags. Perhaps because of this (or perhaps despite this), ‘Don’t Look Up’ has finally become one of the most watched Netflix originals ever, breaking several internal records of the platform.

According to some inside sources heard by the Wall Street Journal , Netflix wants to give ‘superpowers’ to thousands of other users. In 2023, the group of users who will be entitled to watch movies and TV series in preview will be extended, opening the doors to tens of thousands of subscribers all over the world, including in Europe.

Netflix sees this group as an extremely important resource for refining its strategy and creating content capable of satisfying a wider audience.
