Stating that they understand the steps Turkey has taken regarding Syria, Peskov said, “We approach Turkey’s concerns about ensuring its own security with understanding and respect. We believe that this is Turkey’s legitimate right. However, we call on all parties to avoid steps that may seriously destabilize the situation in general. Because “Such steps can come back like a boomerang and make the security-related situation even more difficult,” he said.

Making statements about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s statement that there are disagreements regarding the implementation of the signed Sochi agreement on the solution of the problems in northern Syria, Peskov said, ” There are differences in the approaches of Russia and Turkey towards those who do not fulfill their obligations within the scope of the Sochi agreement regarding the situation in Syria. “These nuances and differences of opinion have been repeatedly discussed by the presidents, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin. Since relations with Turkey are friendly and constructive, these differences can be discussed openly,” he said.

Within the scope of the operation, planes belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces simultaneously destroyed the targets in Asos, 140 kilometers from the border line in northern Iraq, and Kandil, 90 kilometers away.
