Instagram introduced the new dynamic profile photo feature that switches between your picture and avatar. Announcing the feature on its Twitter account, Instagram stated that you can now place your avatar on the other side of your profile picture.

Let us remind you that before this new feature, you have to choose between your profile picture and your avatar to display on your profile. To use the feature, simply add your avatar next to your profile picture via the edit profile picture option. After this process, your profile picture and avatar will be automatically added to your profile and you can switch between both images.
Apparently; Meta is here with a new way to popularize Avatar usage in the app family. First in February of 2022, Meta announced that it will roll out 3D Avatars to Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. In addition, during this period, the company stated that it will enable the effective use of 3D Avatars in Instagram Stories and DMs for the first time.
Mark Zuckerberg announced that they will open a special store for avatars called Avatars Store on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger with a post he shared on Facebook in June 2022 . Thus, users were given the opportunity to purchase digital outfits to style their avatars.
As part of the Meta application family, Avatars took their place on WhatsApp in December 2022 , while continuing to make special deals for the Avatars Store. Most recently, Meta and the NBA have entered into a new partnership to feature NBA-licensed skins on Meta’s Avatar Store. With this new feature, it is possible to say that NBA licensed Avatar appearances will also decorate Instagram profiles.
