Today, another cartoon about Scooby-Doo and his friends was released. A tape titled Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! put an end to years of fan debate about what kind of sexual orientation Velma has. Because now it is known for sure that this heroine is a lesbian.
As confirmation, viewers posted on Twitter a short clip from the cartoon, which shows that Velma has fallen in love with Coco Diablo, the head of a crime syndicate that creates creepy costumes:
The character of Velma first appeared in 1969, and throughout this time her sexuality remained a mystery. However, James Gunn, who wrote the scripts for Scooby-Doo in 2002, planned to make the girl a lesbian, but something went wrong. Apparently, 20 years ago, neither the audience nor the studio bosses would have approved of such a move.
