Hogwarts Legacy will not include the Chamber of Secrets. To reveal it is a fragment of the official artbook of the game which clearly explains that the Chamber of Secrets will not be explorable in the game for reasons of lore. According to reports, in fact, the developers had initially thought of a way to include these dungeons in the game, but in the end they were forced to give up.
One of the main fears was to create a sort of time paradox by having players collide with the Basilisk in the 1800s, later faced by Harry Potter in the 1992 film “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”.
One of the already known facts was that the Slytherin dormitory and the Chamber of Secrets are located in the basement of Hogwarts,” reads the art book. “Early in the development process, the Hogwarts design team considered whether the Chamber of Secrets would make sense in the game. Unfortunately there were some challenges to overcome and in the end it was decided not to include it. We certainly didn’t want the player to think they could kill the Basilisk that must be there in 1992!

The game will allow us to take on the role of a student in Hogwarts of the 1800s in a wide-ranging open-world adventure. In fact, in the game we will not only be able to explore many of the iconic places in the Harry Potter universe, but we will also be able to cast spells, distill potions, take care of magical creatures and much more.
Hogwarts Legacy will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 10, 2023, with 72-hour early access starting on February 7, 2023. The version for the previous generation of consoles, however, will be slightly delayed compared to expected: it will be released on April 4, 2023 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on July 25, 2023 on Nintendo Switch.
