Highlights from Elon Musk’s Twitter 2.0 presentation

If you remember, we recently conveyed to you that Elon Musk made a Twitter 2.0-themed presentation to the employees of the company. As part of this presentation, Musk asked employees to work on end-to-end encrypted video and audio calls between accounts. Elon Musk shared a Twitter 2.0-themed presentation with a tweet he shared yesterday.
Among the highlights from the presentation, the growing user base and the number of active users drew attention to the acquisition of new users. By the way, the dates that appear as November 2020 in the presentations mean November 2022. Although the views in the chart are different, the date ranges of the data are given in the footnotes.
From July 1, 2014, to November 16, 2022, new user acquisition reached an all-time high, surpassing nearly 2 million daily over the past 7 days. This metric is 86 percent higher compared to the same week in 2021.

It also peaked during the period between January 1, 2020, and November 15, 2022, when users were active on the platform. In the last 7 days, about 8 billion users were active for minutes every day. This metric is 30 percent higher compared to the same week in 2021.

The number of daily active users that can generate income globally has exceeded the 250 million thresholds and reached 253 million 865 thousand 365 in November 2022.

From October 17, 2021, to November 13, 2022, hate speech views decreased. In addition, when the period between October 19, 2021, and November 15, 2022, is examined, it is seen that imitation accounts increased before Twitter Blue between November 5-7 and increased once again on November 11 with the launch of Blue, and then decreased rapidly.

When we look at Elon Musk’s super application approach in Twitter 2.0, we see new advertising tools, video, end-to-end encrypted DMs, long-format tweets, the relaunch of Blue Verified, and payment methods.
