Zuhair Fahd Jaber Al-Harthy from Saudi Arabia was appointed as the new Secretary-General of the Center, and Ambassador Antonio Carlos Carvalho de Almeida Ribeiro as Deputy Secretary-General.

On October 1, the new Kaiseed leadership will assume its duties to ensure that the center continues its mission to promote dialogue between followers of religions and cultures around the world.

 

For his part, Secretary-General Al Harthy said, “The biggest challenge we face is our differing viewpoints, cultures and spiritual traditions, which is at the same time the greatest thing we rely on. Through dialogue between followers of religions and increased understanding of the other, we can aspire towards a world that celebrates diversity and upholds our shared values ​​of peace and justice.” “.

In turn, the new Deputy Secretary-General, Ambassador Antonio Ribeiro, said, “Many organizations and individuals are ready to engage in dialogue. However, they often do not know where to start. Therefore, KAISEID offers many global resources, trainings, and forums that help institutions and policy-making bodies mainstream dialogue in every aspect of their work.”

Al-Harthy previously held the position of Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Shura Council in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and also worked on the Human Rights Committee and on the Board of Trustees of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue. in the UK.

Ambassador Antonio Carlos Carvalho de Almeida Ribeiro is a career diplomat who served as Secretary-General of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and represented his country as the Permanent Representative of Portugal to the United Nations in Vienna and served as Portuguese Ambassador to Argentina, Egypt, the Vatican, the Order of the Order of Malta and Austria.

The Center for Global Dialogue aims to promote dialogue and understanding among followers of diverse religions and cultures, encourage respect for diversity, seek justice and spread peace among nations and peoples, as well as address the justification of persecution, violence and conflict in the name of religion.

The Center is composed of the Board of Parties, which consists of representatives of the founding member states (the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Austria, the Kingdom of Spain and the Vatican as a founding member and observer) and the Board of Directors, which includes representatives of various religions (including Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Judaism).
