Warner Bros. Games and DC have announced the arrival of a new free update for Gotham Knights which adds two new modes: Heroic Attack and Clash.
Heroic Strike is an online co-op mode that lets you join forces in teams of four and venture into Gotham City’s dungeons to take on enemies and complete challenges across 30 floors. This mode also features a new threat: the super-advanced alien life form known as Starro the Conqueror , as well as the extraordinary half-human-half-bat hybrid Man-Bat , who is under Starro’s control. This mode becomes available once you reach Case File 05 in the main campaign
Clash , on the other hand, is a two-player online co-op mode that pits you against powered-up versions of the game’s core DC Super-Villains, such as Mr. Freeze , Harley Quinn, Clayface, and Talia al Ghul . By defeating these bosses in Clash Mode , players will earn new blueprints for legendary gear and unique colorways for costumes and Batmotos for each defeated enemy. This mode is unlocked once players defeat the boss in each main villain’s Case Files.
Set in an alternative universe to Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse, Gotham Knights will lead us to take on the role of Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and the Red Hood, who have become the new Knights of Gotham after Batman ‘s death .
In our Gotham Knights review, we pointed out how the game “ has not just the aftertaste, but the full flavor of a missed opportunity. The narrative incipit had the possibility of expressing Gotham in its best possible way, but a gameplay that remained anchored to a decade ago and a city unable to tell itself as best it could go to obscure a lively and challenging open world, but to be crossed riding a fireball that is not such.”
Gotham Knights is out now for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
