Fumito Ueda: will the new game be announced in 2023?

Fumito Ueda and GenDesign have reportedly plans to announce the game they’ve been working on for some time in 2023.
Fumito Ueda , the famous author of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian, has reported together with his new GenDesign team that he intends to announce the new game in development during 2023.
All of GenDesign is working hard to be able to finally announce something new, so please give us all your support,” said Fumito Ueda’s team to the Japanese magazine – reported Fumito Ueda to the microphones of Famitsu magazine.
To date, the only detail regarding the new production is the concept art that you find below. The published image shows a male figure seen from behind wearing a red cloak and perhaps some sort of headdress. The figure is touching a piece of machinery or a strange metal structure, perhaps corroded by time and water. The background shows a flooded plain, with mountains and hills in the distance. An element that suggests that the new title could in fact be more open than Ico and The Last Guardian and more similar to Shadow of the Colossus.
Unfortunately, the concept art has not been accompanied by further information regarding what will be the characteristics of the production. In the summer of 2018, Ueda had discussed his next game, sharing some brief statements, including the guarantee that the team was making very positive progress and that the project in the works will be a new IP that is completely new and unrelated to previous works. Still shrouded in mystery, the title should include both elements familiar to Ueda fans and some novelties.
The fact is that Ueda has proven to be a very talented author and able to deal with the human and dream dimension with great delicacy and sensitivity. We can therefore only hope that his next game will be of the same quality.
