Apparently, Forspoken would have undergone drastic changes during development. This was revealed by the insider Alex Donaldson who in some tweets defined the game as “unrecognizable” compared to the initial project. Donaldson, the owner of the  RPG Site portal, reported that Forspoken was changed several times during the making and that the vast majority of the upheavals would have occurred following the farewell of  Hajime Tabata to Luminous Productions.

One thing I want to say about Forspoken, which I won’t be reviewing and which we don’t have any codes for at RPG Site, is that it’s a game that for better or for worse really did shapeshift several times during development, especially after Tabata left. Square Enix – reported the insider on Twitter – Some people have told me that the original idea is practically unrecognizable within the finished product. This happens to so many games in the course of development, but the case of Forspoken feels quite extreme, as if it has really gone through a wringer in terms of modifications and changes .

Donaldson then concluded by saying that in the light of what he learned he had the impression ” that some of the aspects that have been criticized and mocked before the release are the symptom of a game that has struggled to find its own identity “. An aspect that would better outline the picture of a production full of potential on paper, but afflicted by a whole series of limitations that greatly flatten the gaming experience.

Before we leave you, we remind you that Forspoken is an action RPG that follows the journey of Frey, a young girl from New York who is transported to the beautiful yet cruel land of Athia. In an effort to return home, Frey must use her newly discovered magical abilities to traverse spectacular lands, battle monstrous creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tantas.
