European Union: Let’s judge Russia

The European Union Commission is trying to ensure that Russia is prosecuted for possible war crimes in Ukraine. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed the establishment of a specialized court with the support of the United Nations.
Another Goal Of The EU is to make this country pay for the destruction caused by Russia in Ukraine. Von der Leyen stated that they continue to support the International Criminal Court in The Hague and said, “We are ready to start working with the international community to provide the widest possible international support for this specialized court.”
‘PAY COMPENSATION’
Ursula Von Der Leyen said that ” Russia must pay for the terrible crimes it has committed, including the crime of aggression against a sovereign state,” and that Moscow must also pay the price for the destruction it has caused financially. It is estimated that the damage suffered by Ukraine due to the war is around 600 billion Euros. Von Der Leyen said, “We have the means to make Russia pay for this,” and reminded that they blocked 300 billion Euros of the Russian Central Bank reserves, and that the Russian oligarchs froze 19 billion Euros of their assets. Efforts are underway to establish a legal basis for the use of confiscated amounts.
