The UK will double its LNG from the USA by 2023.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that his country has decided to double its imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States next year.


Sunak, whose evaluations were included in the statement made by the Prime Ministry, stated that the UK agreed to increase LNG imports from the USA to around 9 to 10 billion cubic meters next year.

Noting that the agreement will allow lowering the energy prices passed on to the consumer and reducing energy dependence on Russia, Sunak said, “The UK and the USA will jointly ensure that the national supply security and the global energy price will never be manipulated by the whims of a failed regime.” used the phrases.

Prime Minister Sunak also stated that the two countries are planning to work together on the development of new nuclear and renewable energy technologies.

With the agreement, the UK will meet approximately one-eighth of its annual natural gas needs from the USA.
