Elon Musk ‘graces’ Donald Trump: he’s back on Twitter. But he doesn’t care: “I don’t care”

After a hard-fought poll attended by over 8 million users, Elon Musk has finally officially banned Donald Trump . Too bad the person concerned doesn’t seem to care much (indeed, he has every reason in the world to ignore Twitter).

Donald Trump had been banned for life from Twitter after the events of January 6, 2021 , when a crowd of his sympathizers occupied the Capitol building , threatening the physical integrity of several members of Congress. The former president was accused of inciting the crowd and doing nothing to stop the protests even after the parliament building was occupied. Donald Trump is still suspended from almost every mainstream social platform: from Facebook to YouTube, via Snapchat and Twitch. A big problem, considering that last week Trump officially presented his candidacy for the 2024 presidential elections. He risks having to campaign without a presence on social media.

Donald Trump cannot afford the luxury of returning to the social network

Except for Twitter, of course. The problem is that despite Musk’s “indulgence”, Donald Trump cannot afford the luxury of returning to the social network . The reason is easy to explain: a year ago Trump launched his social platform: it’s called Truth social and it’s basically a carbon copy of Twitter. His only strong point? Donald Trump. It’s the only social network where you can access the tycon’s posts and content. Once this exclusivity is lost, Truth Social loses any reason to exist.

In other words, if Trump went back to posting on Twitter he would deal a death blow to his own company. It is therefore not surprising that the former President has already announced that he does not want to return to the social network now owned by Elon Musk.

“Truth Social is doing very well and I want to stay there,” he said. «I don’t see any reason to go back to Twitter, it’s a social network with huge problems, maybe Musk will solve them, but he might not. It’s a platform with huge problems… incredible problems!”
