Drones: in India they bring vaccines to livestock

Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) in Hyderabad delivered livestock vaccines by drone. Together with the Union Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Products and Arunachal Pradesh Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. The vaccinations carried are for Foot and Mouth Disease ( FMD ), they were delivered from Roing to Paghlam in Arunachal Pradesh. This is the first time livestock vaccines have been transported by drone. The exercise took place with the assistance of Gol and Techeagle Company.

Drones further promote ease of delivery by pushing the culture of innovation. Also, a way to guarantee ease of life on difficult terrain, in fact by flying high they offer a service with a smooth take-off. Delivered 1,000 doses of Raksha Ovac (FMD) vaccine covering an air distance of more than 20 km. A good helper to deliver critical vaccines in time to protect livestock from various diseases.

The exercise was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Arunachal – Upamanyu Basu, the Joint Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Products. Drone delivery will help make vaccines available in remote locations in India. IIL is one of the largest vaccine manufacturers in Asia, established by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in 1982.
