Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion  (find the original  on  Amazon ) indeed promises to bring a small pearl back into the hands of today’s audience.

After our test, Reunion appeared as a good revival of a great classic, but with some shadows related to the balance ( we talk about it in our article ).

Now, after having discovered the  minimum and recommended requirements of the PC version of the game, it is now the turn of the first specifications on the PlayStation side, more specifically the weight of the PS4 and PS5 versions , which hides a small twist.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is "smaller" on PS5

As also reported by Push Square , it seems that the version of the game for current-gen Sony consoles is significantly smaller than its old-gen counterpart .

The difference isn’t always dramatic, but when the PS5’s file compression technology comes into play like this, it’s worth pointing out.

As reported by the ever-reliable PlayStation Game Size on Twitter , therefore, Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion ‘s file size is halved  on Sony’s new home console, compared to the PS4 version.

The remastered action RPG is 40.5GB in size on PS4 , which shrinks to 21GB on PS5 . That’s a pretty impressive drop, even if we’re talking about a game essentially reimagined from its PSP edition.

To be fair though, it’s quite a significant cut in weight, although we don’t believe any content of any kind has been removed in regards to the PlayStation 5 edition.

In any case, the game will be released on December 13, 2022  on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Staying on the subject, how many differences are there between the original released on PlayStation Portable in 2007 and the remake coming out in a few days? Some videos and photos have dispelled any doubts .

But that’s not all: Square recently released a new trailer for Crisis Core , which demonstrates that the game is not a simple remastered .
