Covid-19: the smart test for antibodies is ready

The test is faster and can be useful for personalized vaccinations
A new smart test to detect antibodies against Covid-19 in the blood is ready. The test is quicker and simpler to carry out as it does not require highly specialized laboratories and can be used to create personalized vaccination strategies based on the needs of each individual.
The new test, the results of which were published in the journal Frontiers in Immunology , was developed and developed by the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of the National Research Council of Naples (Cnr-Ibbc) and the National Institute for Infectious Diseases (Inmi) Lazzaro Spallanzani , with the contribution of the Takis Biotech company of Rome.
The identification of antibodies against Sars-CoV-2 of vaccinated or infected individuals capable of blocking the development of the virus can be an important predictive index to understand how the immune response will develop in patients affected by Covid-19 and in vaccinated individuals .
Normally the presence of these antibodies is determined through a test that can only be performed in laboratories with a high safety index, called BSL3.
The recent pandemic has reaffirmed the importance of immunology and above all its ability to find a clinical application to the scientific discoveries that take place in research laboratories: this study is further proof of this.
