Commercial vehicle sales in the EU fell by 6.6 percent

Total sales in the European Union (EU) commercial vehicle market decreased by 6.6 percent in September compared to the same period of the previous year.

The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) has announced the new commercial vehicle registration data of the European Union (EU) countries for September 2022.

Accordingly, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU decreased by 6.6 percent in September compared to the same period of the previous year, to 133,873.

In September, commercial vehicle sales among EU countries decreased by 3.1 percent in Germany, 10.7 percent in Italy and 11 percent in France, compared to the same period last year.

Among the 27 EU member states, France had the highest number of new commercial vehicles in September. During this period, 34 thousand 761 commercial vehicles were registered in France, 25 thousand 265 in Germany, 14 thousand 631 in Italy and 11 thousand 922 in Spain.

New commercial vehicle registrations in the EU decreased by 17.6 percent in January-September 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year and became 1 million 185 thousand 32.

Thus, total commercial vehicle sales in the EU continued to decline since July last year, bringing its decline for the 15th consecutive month.
