The image that puts Athens in trouble

President Tayyip Erdoğan’s remarks about Greece in his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York caused a great reaction in Athens.

After Erdoğan showed the photo of the children whose boats were sunk and drowned by the Greek Coast Guard from the UN Tribune And Said, “ Greece Is Turning The Aegean into a Refugee graveyard with its unlawful and reckless pushbacks ”, the Greek government again entered a “trend of denial and denial”.

THEY QUALIFIED AS ‘FAKE NEWS’

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and Government Spokesperson Yanis Ikonomu described the drama, which was once again announced to the world with photographs, as fake news.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the participants at the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations and drew attention to Greece’s persecution of migrants in the Aegean. In his speech, President Erdoğan said, “This problem cannot be solved by sinking their boats and leaving them to die in order to spare a better future for themselves, and by collecting people in concentration camps. We see that Greece’s persecution of immigrants in the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean is increasing. Last week, 9-month-old baby Asım, 4-year-old Abdulvaham and his family died as a result of the Greek coast guards sinking their boats.
