China’s renewable energy capacity increased in 11 months of the year

China’s renewable energy capacity increased in the 11 months of 2022 compared to the same period last year.

According to the news of Xinhua, the National Energy Administration reported that in the January-November period, solar energy capacity increased by 29.4 percent on an annual basis to 370 million kilowatt-hours, while wind power capacity reached 350 million kilowatt-hours with an increase of 15.1 percent.


In the said period, the total electricity generation capacity increased by 8.1 percent to 2.51 billion kilowatt-hours.

The share of solar energy in total electricity production was 14.7%, while the share of wind energy was 13.9%.

As part of its climate goals, China aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 2030 and to become “carbon neutral” by 2060.
