Cash: ceiling at 5,000 euros

The strong increase in the diffusion of electronic money recorded in recent years cannot in fact ignore the legitimate use of cash: in the absence of regulatory interventions, from 1 January 2023 the limit for the use of cash in Italy will drop from two thousand to one thousand euros , confirming the strong asymmetry compared to many other European countries where much higher limits are in force or even no thresholds are envisaged. While waiting for the definition of a common limit at the European level to be finally reached, it is therefore desirable that this be significantly raised at the national level.
