Today, Thursday, the Mansoura Economic Court ruled that the criminal case may not be considered, and that the player who filed it, the player, must pay the expenses and attorney fees.

In the lawsuit filed by his lawyer on January 30, the player accused the student, “Mohamed Essam” in the Fifth Division, the College of Physiotherapy, of insulting and slandering and using offensive and racist expressions through a post on one of the player’s official pages.

The student’s lawyer presented pleas in the case, in which he confirmed that the student did not intend to offend the player, but criticized his performance in one of the matches, explaining that the student wrote phrases about the player wasting some of the achieved opportunities, and quickly deleted them.

Mr. Salama, the lawyer for the Egyptian student, said in previous statements to Al Arabiya.net that the young man, who is a student in the fifth year at the Faculty of Physiotherapy, is a fan of the Manchester United team, and criticized the player’s performance in a comment on his official page, to be surprised that the player decided to sue him through Egyptian lawyer.

Commenting on the incident, the judge was surprised and asked: Does a player of the size and value of Rashford have time to follow his official page as well as the comments of the followers? The player’s lawyer told him that a public relations company that manages the player’s account is the one who follows up and takes responsibility, and that the player received the comment, read it, and was very frustrated, and responded to it himself, and asked to sue the Egyptian young man.

It is noteworthy that Ahmed Khaled Yahya, official of the official Manchester United Fans Association in Egypt, confirmed to Al Arabiya.net that the player and his agent did not know anything about the matter, nor about the insulting phrases, nor the details of what happened after that.

He explained that the club directed the companies that sponsor the players’ accounts to report any message that may appear as an insult to the players or carry any racist words, after a wave of offensive phrases and racist criticism reached the players’ families and wives during the last period.
