Breaking news: Loss of life in Indonesia earthquake increased to 62

The loss of life is increasing in the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Cianjur region of Indonesia’s West Java province. In the statement made by the Indonesian National Disaster Agency (BNPB), it was stated that the number of people who lost their lives in the earthquake increased to 62, and more than 5 thousand people were displaced in the Cianjur region and more than 2 thousand 200 houses were damaged.
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil previously stated that more than 700 people were injured. It was stated that as the search and rescue efforts continue, the number of casualties and injured may increase.
More than 2,000 people died and more than 4,000 were injured in the 7.5-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck Indonesia in Sulawesi Island in 2018.
