The accident required the intervention of more than 100 firefighters: the aquarium was 16 meters high – that is, like a five or six-storey building – over 1,500 tropical fish swam inside it , almost all of them dead in following the explosion. The enormous quantity of water (over 1 million litres) contained inside the aquarium has invaded the entire structure, causing damage up to the third floor and flooding part of the surrounding streets.
