Bennett to Zelenski: ‘Putin promised me he won’t kill you
The then-Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who briefly acted as a mediator at the beginning of the Ukrainian occupation, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin promised not to kill Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In An Interview With Israeli TV Channel 12, Bennett said, “I asked him if he had any intention of killing Zelenski. “I will not kill him,” said Putin. “I assume you promised me this,” I replied. He repeated, ‘I will not kill Zelenski. Bennett stated that this dialogue took place during his trip to Moscow in March 2022. Bennett, who also said that he conveyed this to Zelenski on the phone after the meeting, explained that dialogue as follows: “Listen, I’m out of the meeting now. Putin will not kill you. ‘Are you sure?’ 100 percent, it won’t kill you.”
